EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)

• Manages electronic documentation through Indian Customs EDI System (ICES 1.5).
• Operates 24/7 and coordinates with the Directorate of Systems, New Delhi.
• Handles software/hardware issues related to EDI operations.

Import Groups

• Assesses Bills of Entry for clearance under different Custom Tariff Heads (CTH).
• Manages imports for home consumption, warehousing, and bonded goods.

Refund

• Processes refunds, including 4% Special Additional Duty (SAD).
• Handles refunds under Section 27 of the Customs Act, 1962.

Import Shed

• Conducts physical examination of imported goods at designated sheds.
• Grants Out of Charge (OOC) clearance based on required documentation.
• Processes Risk Management System (RMS) Bills of Entry.

SIIB (Special Investigation & Intelligence Branch - Import)

• Collects intelligence and conducts investigations on import-related fraud.
• Carries out surveillance, searches, and enforcement actions.

MCD (Manifest Clearing Department)

• Maintains Import & Export General Manifests.
• Keeps records of Bills of Entry & Shipping Bills after closure.

Adjudication

• Handles legal adjudication of customs cases.
• Issues notices, schedules hearings, and processes adjudication orders.

TRC (Tax Recovery Cell)

• Recovers pending government dues.
• Handles attachment and auction of defaulters' assets.

IAD (Internal Audit Department)

• Manages audit objections and compliance tracking.
• Maintains AM, SOF, and DAP files.

Import Noting

• Maintains Import General Manifests (IGMs) for airlines.
• Processes amendments for weight, consignee details, and short shipments.
• Issues manual Thoka for SEZ Bills of Entry and consulate cargo.
